Develop an Online Course

Latest news: Our next course developer session begins January 2010

If you are an experienced educator and and are interested in working with a team to create online professional development geared especially to the needs of Pennsylvania teachers, then we invite you to become part of this exciting initiative.

Course developers will:

• Earn a stipend for each course developed.
• Participate in an online course development experience. Course developers will be led through the process by an experienced facilitator.
• Become part of an initiative to provide high quality professional development to Pennsylvania educators.

The Online Course Design and Delivery Program prepares participants to design and facilitate their own online workshops for teacher professional development. Participants are trained in a semester-long course focused on pedagogical issues of design for the online environment, building an online learning community, developing online content and incorporating online resources, online assessment, and other instructional strategies. Participants are stepped through the process of online course design as they work on their own course shells throughout the course.
